Role Title: Stores Operative
Reporting Line Manager: The Stores Operative will report to the Stores Manager.
Departmental Overview
Material Planning, Logistics & Stores is a function within Operations and is responsible for developing and managing the supply chain, procuring components and equipment for the manufacturing, assembly and delivery of all Artemis Technologies products including the Artemis eFoiler® and Artemis Technologies’ vessel parts. It is also responsible for warehouse and stock control, for the supply chain systems and processes, including ERP, Production Planning, logistics and compliance, to meet the strategic requirements of a global manufacturing business.
Role Overview
This is an opportunity for a Stores Operative to join the team to take on a challenging and exciting role as ATL grows rapidly to achieve its unique, leading-edge technology-driven vision through its world class team.
They will be responsible for defining the stores/stock control processes on the ERP system and creating and maintaining a physical stores facility at the Queens Road production site. They will support the control of incoming parts / consumables and outgoing products and will create an efficient work environment that optimises business performance and staff productivity.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Developing and managing inventory/ processes in our ERP system including providing any necessary work instructions.
- Creating and managing physical store locations and bin locations.
- Updating the ERP system with stock movements.
- Receiving and completing visual inspections of parts.
- Checking part numbers and quantities against Purchase Orders.
- Completing basic dimensional inspections against engineering drawing as required.
- Creating assembly kits for line feeding.
- Maintaining Kanban bins for production consumables.
- Completing Inventory Counts.
- Issuing parts to production and recording stock movements in ERP system.
- Managing Inventory (First in / First Out, FIFO).
- Documenting weekly Visual Racking Inspections and ensuring MHE equipment checks are completed.
- Working with Quality Team and Supply Chain Teams on product returns (RTV’s).
- Supporting Quality Team (Quality Mindset).
- Providing support across other business functions.
- Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised.
- Building good working relationships across Artemis Technologies.
- Contributing to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Technologies Values and Guiding Principles and enabling the Company to achieve its goals.
Education
Knowledge And Specialist Skills:
- Must be a final year apprentice on track to complete their apprenticeship by September 2025.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ shop floor experience.
- A proven track record of setting up a Stores location and Bin locations.
- A proven track record of setting up Kanban supply systems.
- A proven track record of assembly kitting for line feeding.
- Experience with Lean Manufacture.
- Experience operating within a Manufacturing/Production stores environment.
Key Skills Required
Technical Skills:
- Operate Forklift Truck (With valid B1 License, B2 desirable).
- MRP/ERP Experience (Dynamics 365 Business Central desirable).
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment (Verniers, Height Gauges, Tape Rules, Surface Finish gauges).
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand basic tolerancing.
- Competent with MS Office suite of Software.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Competent with Long Span Pallet racking inspection and nonconformance reporting.
Communication Skills
- Demonstrable ability of capturing complex requirements.
- Good report writing skills – clear, concise, and well structured.
- Articulate written, visual, and verbal communicator.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Teamworking Skills
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and resolve.
- An appreciation of, and an ability to, positively resolve issues arising from different cultures.
